Autumn is finally here, and with six to eight weeks of great fall color ahead, the mountains of Western North Carolina are sure to bring inspiration and joy. And sweater weather, yay! The Asheville area has one of the longest fall seasons in the world, and we’re just getting started with week 1 of our fall foliage reports. Let’s begin!
2017 Fall Color Report for the NC Mountains: Week 5
Well, if Mother Nature took her foot off the gas the past couple of weeks with regard to the changing fall colors, she seems to also be braking a little bit! Contrary to expert predictions at the beginning of the season, we are NOT having an early fall, but rather a late one. With Week 5 upon us, let’s see where the fall color is.
Early January Snow Day
Happy New Year! And yippee! Our first snow of the winter season arrived on January 6, 2017, blanketing Pisgah National Forest around Asheville, including our neck of the woods at the Inn on Mill Creek with several inches of beauty. Stillness. Peaceful. Calming. Quiet. A great way to kick off the new year.
