2019 Fall Color Report for the North Carolina Mountains, Week 8
It’s our final week of fall color reports for 2019 and there are still plenty of oranges and reds in the landscape here around Asheville as we head into the late fall season, thanks to Mother Nature delaying the start of the color show this year. And some areas just south of us are at peak now, so even going further into November, leaves will be changing depending on where you go.
December Snow Day 2018
With more than a week to go before the official start of winter, Mother Nature decided a snow day was in order for the Western North Carolina mountains. More than 15 inches was recorded right here at the Inn on Mill Creek between December 9 and 10, 2018. Get ready for some pretty pictures of our winter wonderland!

Repairs to Point Lookout Trail Begin May 31, 2016
The greenway closest to the Inn on Mill Creek, Point Lookout Trail, is getting some much-needed repairs soon! This means that the trail will be closed during the summer of 2016, but the work being done will provide long-term benefits, which is great news because this is a favorite trail for our guests.

Springtime Hike: Catawba Falls Trail in Old Fort
Looking to get outdoors during your springtime visit to the Asheville area? A waterfall hike can be a great experience for many reasons: a chance to see spring wildflowers and other vibrant spring green everywhere, fewer crowds on the trails than in the summer and fall, and also the snow melt from higher elevations and the occasional spring rain shower make for more water…falling. One waterfall we like happens to be the closest one to the Inn on Mill Creek: Catawba Falls.
