Those of you who continue to be under winter’s spell up north…sick of white snow? Let’s talk white flowers instead. Here at the Inn on Mill Creek, we continue to research white flowering plants and shrubs for our White Garden project.

OF MUSIC AND MARATHONS
Next weekend, the town of Black Mountain will be all about music and marathons. First off, the music…on February 27, the Black Mountain Center for the Arts will host its regular “Upbeat! Musical Heritage 4th Friday Concert” series, this month featuring Red June with Will Straughan, John Cloyd Miller, and Natalya Weinstein. Doors open at 7pm ($10 donation at the door). As a site on the North Carolina Birding Trail, we’re happy to be counted among the participants this year in the 12th annual Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC), a four-day bird watching event across the United States and Canada. This year, the GBBC takes place February 13-16.
